The Protein Carbonylation Assay Kit provides a method for detecting oxidative damage to proteins, a key marker of cellular stress and aging. Protein carbonyls are formed when reactive oxygen species modify amino acid side chains, leading to structural and functional alterations. The kit is based on the derivatization of carbonyl groups with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH). This reaction forms stable dinitrophenyl (DNP) hydrazone adducts which have a characteristic absorbance peak at 365–375 nm, allowing for quantitative spectrophotometric detection.

  • Quantitative detection of carbonyl groups in wide variety of biological samples
  • Ready-to-use reagents and 96-well plate format for high-throughput analysis
