BRS – BQC REDOX SYSTEM for Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC)
Just a drop of sample with little or no sample pretreatment – Classical TAC assays do not measure the complete oxidative status of the samples, they cannot be used with colored samples and they require sample preparation modifying sample native conditions. However, the method developed by BQC bypasses all of these issues.

Global measurements integrate the individual effect of all molecules in a given matrix, and their additive, synergistic or antagonistic interactions. Currently methods are based on radical initiators that react with certain molecules in a sample, and it is needed to combine several methods to determine all of them.
With the BRS you can measure the total effect of different REDOX parameters in one single assay based on the most powerful analytical technique: electrochemistry.
Alterations in the redox status of tissue/organs and body fluids have been linked to several health impairments such as infertility, obesity, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.
The higher Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) and Hydrogen Peroxide Scavenging, the greater ability of the sample to eliminate Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and avoid damage.
REDOX determination is an important tool for plant characterization and for food quality control, since the antioxidant levels vary depending on environmental factors, harvesting, ripping, aging, expiration and storage conditions.
BRS can reach a higher lineal range than CUPRAC and ORAC. In addition, several samples were assayed in two different laboratories resulting in good interlaboratory reproducibility. This is consistent with the direct measurement using BRS, which reduces the possibility to introduce mistakes.
