BQC BCA Protein Quantification Assay Kit is based on the bicinchoninic acid (BCA) assay.

This method relies on two chemical reactions. The first is the Biuret reaction, in which Cu2+ is reduced to Cu+ by proteins in an alkaline solution. The second reaction is the chelation of reduced cupper ions by bicinchoninic acid to produce a purple complex with strong absorbance at 562 nm. The protein concentration is a sample is determined from a calibration curve using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as standard.
