We are a Spanish biotechnology company with a high entrepreneurial and innovative component dedicated to the study of redox parameters.

Company foundation

2015
After 5 years of research in redox technology at Oviedo University, Henar Muñoz and David Hevia found Bioquochem (BQC). Bioquochem is located in the CEEI building in the Asturias Technology Park in a 50m2 office.

EBT grants

2015
EBT grants are obtained from the Institute of Economic Development of the Principality of Asturias for the start of the company’s activity.

Product sales begin

2016
BQC achieves the EIBT (Technology-Based Company) brand recognized by ANCES (National association of CEEIs).

The eBQC LAB

2017
The eBQC LAB device goes on sale, and BQC is positioned in the REDOX sensor market.

Awards

2019
BQC receives the award for “most innovative device” by the eBQC LAB at the Congress of the International Antioxidant Society.

The eBQC NI

2020
The eBQC NI device – food samples – goes on sale.

Patents

2021
BQC protects its “Portable device for the measurement of antioxidant capacity in liquid samples using screen-printed electrodes”, Spain, Utility model No ES1251412U and the “Method for measuring oxidation parameters of an organic sample – (biodiesel and oils)” P202031029 – PCT/ES2021/070737

Business expansion

2022
BQC begins its expansion process- change of facilities and hiring of new personnel.

The BRS goes on sale

2023
The BRS device – for both food and biomedical samples – goes on sale.

Pittcon Conference and Exposition awarded the BRS for “excellence in instrumentation”.
