BQC is a spin-off from the University of Oviedo, founded in May 2015. We are a Spanish biotechnological company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of innovative kits and devices for quick and effortless quantification of REDOX parameters, among other biological parameters.

  • Foundation

    2015

    After 5 years of research in redox technology at Oviedo University, Henar Muñoz and David Hevia found Bioquochem SL (BQC).

  • Spectrophotometric Assay Kits

    2015

    BQC launches its first kits.

  • EBT grants

    2015

    BQC receives an EBT grant (support the creation and growth of tech-based companies) from IDEPA (Institute of Economic Development of the Principality of Asturias).

  • EIBT mark

    2016

    BQC is distinguished at national level as Innovative Technology-Based Company (EIBT) by the National Association of Spanish BICs (ANCES) supported by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

  • eBQC LAB

    2017

    BQC launches the eBQC LAB: the first electrochemical device for measuring TAC (total antioxidant capacity) in biomedical samples, marking its entry into the redox sensor.

  • Awards

    2019

    BQC receives the award for “most innovative device” by the eBQC LAB at the Congress of the International Antioxidant Society.

  • ISO 9001

    BRS achieves ISO 9001 certification.

  • eBQC NI

    2020

    BQC launches the eBQC NI device: the first electrochemical device for measuring TAC (total antioxidant capacity) in agrifood samples.
